Two man hold

Whenever a student is having a "behavior" that requires assistance there is a specific way to combat this.

  1. Two people, who have been trained to do this, should approach the student from the side. When approaching the side put hand on side arm,
  2. say "excuse the touch",
  3. wrap arm around front mid-section of student,
  4. wrap other arm around mid-section of back. The second person comes around to the other side and does the same thing.
  5. When each person has a hold of student then there is a step-glide type walk with student to designated safe area.

  1. Lisa,
I know you work with the handicapped but another reader might not. You neglected to mention the type of student for which this procedure applies. Unless this is a generic procedure that I am not privy to.
Did you check out my blog?

  2. This is for the EBICs type autistic child. One that is very aggressive and combative.
